SYNOPSIS

After waking from an unusual dream, HUNTER witnesses his wife being savagely killed by a strange creature.

Years later, a woman, RYAN, and her brother JASON come to a small town called Falmer to hid out in a motel with their dog ROCKY.

Hunter picks up some ammo from a close friend named BILLY. Meanwhile, Ryan and Jason stash a large duffel bag full of money in a safe inside the motel while they make plans for their future out of the country.

Hunter goes to the local police station to take photos of a ‘missing persons’ bulletin board. While there, he runs into a friendly young police officer named JIM.

They briefly talk about the high number of missing persons as of late, and the fact that no one seems to care.

While taking Rocky for a walk on a trail in the nearby woods, Jason comes across a group of soldiers carrying mysterious weapons. While hiding from them, Jason spots a humanoid creature perched up in the canopy above.

Hunter encounters hostile townspeople in a local grocery store. Hunter gets into a fight with a man after he accuses Hunter of murdering his wife.

Back at the motel, Ryan goes searching for Jason after their dog Rocky comes back without him. She discovers blood in the woods, but there’s no sign of Jason.

Ryan goes to the police station to report her brother missing, but quickly discovers the police aren’t much help. While there, Ryan runs into Hunter for the first time as he gets released from jail on bail. Ryan notices that Hunter’s wife is on the ‘missing persons’ board and offers him a ride.

On the way to drop Hunter off at his car, Hunter implies that the mining company, Apex, is behind the recent disappearances, and that Ryan will never be able to find her brother.

The next morning at the motel, Ryan is awakened by men n suits claiming to be F.B.I. agents outside the front door of the motel.

Ryan quickly gathers the cash from the safe, and cleverly escapes with Rocky by sneaking out the door of the adjacent hotel room she rented.

Hunter buys a bottle of liquor as a gift for Billy and goes to Billy’s gun store to drop it off to him, only to find that the store is unexpectedly closed. Hunter shows up at Billy’s house where he finds Billy’s wife KATHLEEN is hysterical.

Kathleen tells Hunter a horrifying story about how something killed Billy violently pulling him into a storm drain the night before.

At a new motel, Ryan does research on Apex, Falmer, and the missing people. Ryan then heads out to talk to relatives of the missing people, only to find that no one is willing to talk to her, besides a young neighborhood kid named KENNY.

Kenny tells Ryan a terrifying story about how his friend James went missing a few weeks ago after seeing something in the forest while hanging out at their treehouse. Kenny claims he saw something that looked like his friend James a couple days ago, but that it wasn’t him.

Hunter kills the creature that might have killed Billy the night before by lighting it on fire and baiting it with dear meat. Upon returning to his house, he sees Ryan waiting for him in his driveway.

In the house, Ryan tells Hunter why she’s in Falmer. She explains that after the death of her parents, her brother got involved with the wrong people, and that they escaped Falmer to hide out.

Ryan leaves after Hunter tries to tell her that whatever is behind the disappearances is not human.

While driving back to the motel, it begins to rain. Ryan sees what looks like Jason walking into the woods on the side of the road. She grabs a flashlight and follows after him.

While in the woods, Ryan encounters a terrifying creature that seems to be mimicking Jason. Horrified, Ryan sprints back to her truck and drives off, just as the creature slams into her door.

While looking in the rear-view mirror, Ryan hits a deer and spins out to the side of the road. While frantically trying to get the truck started, the creature bursts through her passenger side window. Ryan unloads on the creature with her handgun and then speeds off into the night.

Ryan shows back up at Hunter’s house, soaking wet and terrified, and confesses that she believes him.
