LOGLINE
A game show where contestants choose to complete one of two equally horrible tasks in order to advance.
SYNOPSIS
Choose Your Fate is a 30-minute, self-contained, format game show in which contestants advance through three rounds of increasing difficulty by choosing between one of two equally horrible tasks and completing that task within the given time limit.
One contestant will compete at a time. After being introduced to the viewer, they will be presented with their first choice. Level 1 will always consist of consuming something, and consuming something will always have a time limit.
Contestants must choose and complete one of the two tasks. At any point contestants may switch tasks, as long as one of the two tasks is completed within the time limit.
Once a task has been completed, the contestant will be awarded the prize money for completing Level 1, and the next set of challenges will be brought into the room.
The challenges in Level 2 will be much more difficult than those of Level 1, and the challenges of Level 3 will be the most extreme. Contestants may quit at any point, but will only receive prize money for the challenges they complete.
SETTING
The setting will be a large, pure white, sterile room. This will be the only location, and will not be filmed in front of a live studio audience.
One contestant will compete at a time. The contestant will walk into the room where the first set of challenges will be awaiting them. After each challenge has been completed, the next set of challenges will be brought into the room.
FORMAT
MEET THE CONTESTANTS
A quick introduction of the contestants. The host goes over the rules.
LEVEL 1
Choose between consuming one of two things. These challenges will always come with a time limit. Examples would be choosing between eating a deer eyeball or 3 live slugs. Drink a cup of liquified worms or a cup of bull semen. Eat three live cockroaches or a horse rectum.
LEVEL 2
These challenges are more intense than Level 1. Examples would be choosing between shaving all the hair off your body or getting your nipples pierced. Laying in a coffin filled with rats or a container full of insects. Eat a bowl of rice mixed with maggots or get your ears gauged.
LEVEL 3
These challenges are the most extreme. Choose between getting waterboarded or force fed with a tube. Being buried alive with spiders or eating an entire opossum. Put your hand in a glove of fire ants or get a tattoo of the show’s logo.
OTHER NOTES
Multiple contestants can go through the same challenges in a single episode, but none of the contestants should have been able to see the other contestants compete.
Contestants can forfeit their winnings from Level 1 in order to advance to Level 3 if they fail, or refuse to complete the Level 2 challenge.
The host should be the only other person in the room with a contestant during a challenge.
Possible suggestions for prizes would be $5,000 for completing Level 1, $10,000 for completing Level 2, and $20,000 for completing Level 3.
Team challenges or challenges on the street are also possible with a similar format.
